Daleside Nurseries has grown and sold plants from an 8-hectare site two miles north of Harrogate since 1958 — family-run throughout, home to a wide plant range, gardening sundries, and the Paradise café.

Nearly seventy years, one storm included

  1. 1958

    Daleside Nurseries is founded in Killinghall, growing and selling plants on what would become an 8-hectare site.

  2. 1962

    A severe storm on the 12th and 13th of February destroys every glasshouse on the site.

  3. 1966

    The rebuilt nursery is documented in its first aerial photograph, standing again after the storm.

  4. Today

    Still family-run, growing an extensive range of common and hard-to-find plants, with the Paradise café on site, run by Frances, Roger and John.
